Today's Birthday

My home is located on the outskirts of the town. Being surrounded with greenery from all four sides, it was like living and making merry in the jungle. Everyone else who were adapt to the city life, found our home lonely and silent. For us, our home was something different.

A platform to rest upon
Green sky to stretch the wings and fly on and on.
Twig to hold on and escape
From every tumultuous condition, find a way.
Canvas to spread colors freely
Rainbow to paint griefs of the heart timidly.
Sunshine to brighten the days, elighten the nights
Shadow to follow us with every stride.
Galaxy to unravel secrets every now and then
Mysteries to dig into and unearth treasures hidden.

We had no boundary wall or fencing all around. A Neem tree guarded us against harmful bacterias, insects and diseases. Its shadow was something we coveted every winter morning and summer evening. There was nothing that could stop us. Like village chaupals, we used to pull out chairs in the evening and the neighbors would drop by discussing stuffs of all kind. With the cup of tea and home cooked snacks, many things were mutually shared.Despite the fact that the home was insecure with just a single fragile gate, yet we felt so safe.

And then things changed. Flowing With the winds of change, a boundary wall is being constructed and a big Iron gate was erected. Neem tree was cut from the root to avoid its penetration into people's boundary.
We are Unsafe!
We are Alone!
We can be burgled!
We can be decieved!
We cease to exist freely...yet again!
